Diving Giraffes

 

We where learning to write a recount about diving giraffes and are trying to explain what exactly happened and we where trying to use figurative language to show actions in our recount. We are also trying to add more adjectives into the recount.

 We found it easy to come up with ideas and thinking of what we wanted to write down we also found it easy to find the fonts and watching the diving giraffes video helped make it not to hard to write.

Te Whare Tapa Wha

 

We were using our whaiwhakaaro being a thinker in our learning . I was explaining my thinking about how each pou needs to be the best I can be, by using images to reflect this .

I found it hard to find a dance fit logo .

Ancient creature

 

I was focusing on being a communicator and being able to share my ideas through writing. I used a lot of similie to paint a picture for my reader.  I used interesting sentence starters to engage my reader too.  To help me describe my creature I used  some alliteration.  I hope you enjoy my description of my Ancient Creature

Next timed to be even better I am going to add more description to my writing so people can understand what I want to picture in their head.

Then and Now

 

• During this task we asked Mrs Leggett questions about her childhood and asked about what she did when she was younger when she was at school.
• I asked Mrs Leggett questions like how she got to school as a kid and how she got to school.
• I chose the right source of information I needed from all the questions we needed, because she was the right age for what we needed.

• I communicated by using mote to share my writing to others and give them ideas of what we were doing.  I show kaikorero. I shared all my ideas I know, so someone else might get some information from listening to my ideas.

• I was a self manager by writing down things about the old days and using my time well and completing this task.
• I show kaiwhakarite because I stayed organized and managed my time effectively by getting all the information and organizing my learning.  I am a learner who mostly knows how I learn best.  I like being by my friends because that helps me with ideas.

Early arrivals to New Zealand

 

We were learning about history of Abel Tasman and how he was the first dutch explorer to find 

New Zealand and that he came before captain James Cook.

I found it easy to make the first slide and to find the pictures and get all the facts written down for the slide number two and choose the font.

I found it hard to think of how to do the squiggles and the font. I also found it hard to find a good New Zealand photo and a good map for the background.

I really enjoyed writing everything down like how Abel tasman was born in 1603 and I also enjoyed making different things on the slide

Next time I need to take less time writing down the facts and take less time just looking for facts.

life in Aotearoa New Zealand

We were learning about creating an animal that you would make people think where real animals that existed a long time ago.

I found it easy to make the shell of the turtletara and make the feet of it.  I also found it easy to write all the things down about the turteltara.

I found it hard to polyline the tuatara head and feet I also found it hard to make the 16 spikes on his back and also color them.

I really enjoyed making the eye of the turteltara I also enjoyed using polyline and curve I enjoyed choosing the colors as well.

Next time i need to take up less time choosing the creature and talking to my friends.

CHANGE poem

We where learning about  CHANGE. Change is when you grow taller and become a hole different person and a bird could go from being able to fly to only walking around on the ground and day can go from sunny to darkness.

I found it easy to get the background all sorted and make it all beautiful with colors and make them all blended. I also found it easy to go back and forward to get things to write down and go around the pieces of paper that had our class ideas on to see what I need.

I found it hard to think of the colors for the background  and to choose out of black and white for my writing color. I also found it hard to think of the things I should write for my poem.

I really enjoyed going back and forward thinking of what I should write down on my chromebook for my poem.

Next time I need to go a bit faster than usual and get on with the work.

 

Where I learn best

 We were learning about where we can learn best in our classroom with our classmates.

I found it easy to get all my stuff finished on the slide like my photo and writing. I chose the place I learn best at with my friends.

I found it hard to take the picture with my chromebook because it nearly fell out of my hands

I really enjoyed writing everything down on my chromebook because I am really fast at typing.

Next time I need to add more to my learning because I don't always write enough.
